I wasn't asking if someone could tell me Elder Driscoll. Ha. But thank you for the offer. I was simply asking if people in the court knew.

being very new to the city, I'm not sure if it's my place to say, but.... caitiff: Originally meaning a captive, by extension a wretched miserable person. It often expresses contempt and means a despicable wretch or villain. ... thank you internet

"The very appellation implies that the vampire is worthless, an outcast to the vampiric world."
Speaking as a member of a Clan I find it is such a shock that someone would throw away their clan to become such.

Well, it's obvious what it means for us. Google has a fair amount of definitions, but I think the one you're looking for is "wretch".
EDIT: well, celery didn't help me there. I'll just go back to being the bat on the wall, as it were.

^ Bingo. And a point to the newcomer. Welcome by the way. That being said though:
I ask you all to ponder over this definition, and really think hard as to whether or not it applies to what we think of certain people in this court. I mean lets be honest, I don't think it does apply to the 'Caitiff' that reside within our walls.
BUT HEY, If the shoe fits, lace that bitch up.... and it certainly does fit some feet.

"Other vampires shun Caitiff, even those who are otherwise open-minded. Long ago, superstition claimed that Caitiff were an infection, a disease, and that spending too much time among them would cause a vampire to create a Caitiff when she next attempted to Embrace. Other rumors call the Caitiff a curse, a punishment from God, Caine, or some other eternal force.
Still other, darker legends say that an abundance of Caitiff is a sign of the End Times; they are an omen that signals vampiric power is waning and the world will soon be destroyed by fire."
And as a member of the Clan that is most open minded to the Caitiff and their toils. But that someone should CHOOSE to become such and disrespect the Clan they have does not broker much tolerance. In fact those unfortunates who become caitiff by embrace can at least be pitied or emphasized with. Someone who chooses to become such does not garner that.
And as for applying to certain people in court? Had they the respect garnered over the years as shown by Status then yes, they would still have that. But one who does not even have that does not suddenly garner extra respect and understanding for spitting in the face of their clan. They chose this fate for themselves.

I am speaking of the literal definition. Not the one given to kindred by the camarilla.

At last check we are a Camrilla society that follows the Camrilla traditions and customs. To hear such heresy from the mouth of a Primogen no less. I would remind you Lady Inara with the removal of Albus Lepus has Primogen you no longer have claim to the Loyal status is position granted and the final death of Elijah Windsor, Bless his name, you no longer carry his favor.
