My fellow Kindred;
I come before you all today with a heavy heart, but also with the knowledge that something must be done to claw this domain back from the clutches of the abyss. We currently face a crisis greater than a tribe of uppity lupines or an infernalist Cardinal with delusions of grandeur. Indeed, not only is our physical safety threatened, but our very way of life itself stands teetering at the edge of a very steep cliff. What I am about to say I do not say out of some base lust for power, petty vengeance, or glory. Nor would I do this publicly like this normaly, but desperate times and all that. Rather I do so out of a sense of duty to the traditions and customs that have guided and held together our great civilization, and the threats facing both them and our very un-lives.
Fellow Kindred, I ask you this. What is the primary duty of a Prince to their subjects?
Rhetorical question, it is to ensure the safety and stability of their domain, and to keep it safe from incursion. To enforce the traditions that have kept us safe throughout these many centuries since the founding of our great organization.
Can anyone in this domain honestly that Petty Prince Barbara Windsor has even come remotely close to doing so? To anyone with half a mind, her reign has been nothing but an unmitigated disaster! The only issue that threatened the city that has since been resolved was resolved completely independently of her. Thanks and more are due to the honored Tremere regent for that. But I digress, the only time she manages to rise above her weak and cowardly nature is when she manages to make yet another idiotic decision that sends our domain that much closer to the edge.
First and foremost amongst these mistakes is her quite frankly brain-dead decision to try and lure Pentex into our domain. The absurdity of trying to bribe a trillion-dollar corporation with one share and half a million dollars aside, there is a far more dangerous aspect to this decision. To those uninitiated into the bastardized lore of the lupines, Pentex is more than a corporation. Imagine a Sabbat that both understood and guided mortal society far better than any Toredor and had more resources than any Ventrue, a Sabbat run by infernalists with their own twisted designs. I'm hardly a saint, but even I draw the line at working with a soulless corporate machine that binds demons to children. The Sabbat example is quite apt as well, considering some of those bastards actually work for them.
Make no mistake, they do not come to this city for material gain, they have designs, a purpose. Does anyone honestly think that an organization like Pentex shares? Why would they? We've already proved ourselves to weak to defend ourselves, so inept that we had to go running for help instead of dealing with the Lupines ourselves. Lets also not forget that they've made no promises to even deal with the Lupines. Then there's what the Lupines will do when they find out. I would not be surprised if they doubled their resolve and finally united in full to destroy us all, given what we're apparently willing to resort to. Not only has our inept Petty Prince failed to solve one problem, she's created another, larger problem. A continuing theme in her so-called rule.
Were that her only grave error. You all remember the late Gabriel, Elder of Clan Ventrue. The list of his misdeeds could fill roughly half the bible, but that's beside the point. He had earned his death many times over, and our "good and noble" Petty Prince refused to render judgement. Apparently trying to assassinate the Harpy with explosives is just a regular Sunday evening, rather than a capital offense. If Barbara thinks she can pump you for something, you can quite literally get away with anything. In any other domain, a strong Prince would have ended him. Would have made an example, would have shown that none can escape their Princely justice. But she is weak. She claimed that she could not do anything about it, which as our good Harpy says means that she cannot be Prince.
Tell me Harpy, how does it feel that our Prince would not grant you the justice you so righteously deserved because she wanted something out of the accused? How does it feel that you had to go behind her back, cashing in a pile of extremely valuable boons just because she could not or would not be a fucking Prince? While we're on the subject, how do you feel about her shitting all over Prestation by claiming that a non-existent Blood Boon had been called on her, just so she could worm her way out of being such an ineffectual Petty Prince.
Then there is her gross disrespect for our ancient traditions. Granted, the future of Sect is somewhat uncertain. Change is in the air, but is that any reason to complete abandon nearly half of our sacred traditions? The disbanding of the Primogen Council was an unwarranted slap in the faces of every clan, an insult with only one Purpose. Disbanding the council has only one meaning, she fears it. The mere possibility of the council striping her Praxis kicked her fear into high gear. Our Petty Prince is so weak, so inept that she fears that granting the Elders of the city any power threatens her reign. In doing so, she projects her own weaknesses and insecurities for all the Court to see. A strong prince, a wise prince does not fear their advisers, but guides them, works with them.
Last but most certainly not least, there is one final question. What even is this domain? Our traditions are clear, a Prince must have at least four Primogen to be a Prince. Obviously this is not the case, and yet Windsor still claims the title of Prince. The traditions that she respects are few indeed, but apparently those justifying her insane rule are among. She is nothing but a cowardly, petty tyrant that doesn't even deserve to rule her bathroom.
For all of these reasons and more, I cannot, no I WILL NOT, accept the authority of one such as her.
I, Elder Erik Highcastle of Clan Nosferatu, do hereby declare Praxis over the domain of Red Deer.
In my domain our traditions will be paramount. The rights and position of those that have worked so long and hard to achieve shall not be threatened or changed, and the Primogen Council shall be restored. In my domain I will rule as Prince with guile and might, I will not subcontract my duties out and I will move to end all threats currently facing our domain as soon as possible.
I beesech you all, listen to the truth in my words. If our city is to be pulled from the brink, Barbara Windsor cannot be allowed to rule. We need a strong and capable Prince now more than ever, and I think I have made it quite clear that Elder Windsor is not that person.
