Well, that did not go as planned.
I expected drones if anything not him to blow up the lower level to make it collapse on us.
Did all the Ventrue make it out?
As for me it is good news and bad news. The bad news is that I think the fucker managed to off the Harpy. I played dead and got myself out of there after they dug me out. Took a fair bit of cleaning memories. Did you know someone stole their evidence/the body they were taking to the morgue? a hyjacking of the van at gun point. Shame, shame what is this world coming to. Seems it was some biker or something. [wink]
I did learn that I was the only body (ooc: unless I had to pull someone else out of the morgue also but I think you both got away without me, or the retainer got killed) that was recovered. So either the Harpy is tougher than I took him for or he bought it.
Good news is that we don't owe him for his service anymore. And a lot of the Kindred in town will be happy he is gone.
As long as the Ventrue are in one piece I guess all is good. No real loss. We tried at least and our plan would have protected the Masquerade if not for him blowing us up.
Oh well. It was one hell of a team building exercise. What do you guys think?

OOC: this is much later in the night had to dig my way out of rubble then save Edvin and do some investigating lol
IC: Me, Owen and Edvin are fine we were trapped under the rubble Owen managed to dig us out and with my connection to the Public safety Minister I managed to take control of the investigation. I can only assume cause of the recent posts made by Marchand smithee was spooked but he himself could not of had time to set this trap for us. Someone rigid explosives to the support pillars bellow which cause the explosion, marchands death and your injury M'kael. Now I believe I know who Smithee is working with based on what Me and Owen seen as we were digging our way out I have strong Belief Jack McVitie was the man working with smithee, He has the right to claim he be the last person working with him which is a good defence to fall back on. He moved a piece of concrete seen me and Owen and dropped it back in place thinking to trap us then fled the seen like a COWARD! If he was not working with Smithee I doubt he would of known about the explosion or of even been there, his time is very fortunate. Also I am sure any Kindred not aiding Smithee would of Helped us out and maybe tried claiming a boon out of it. Jack is Aiding smithee and I know you want to give them time to Mellow But an ELDER of our court is dead and he tried Killing 4 members of clan Ventrue!
MY PRINCE Elijah Windsor Jack Mcvitie need to be punished for working with Smithee. An example needs to be set that Killing each other and Aiding a blood hunted Caitiff will not be accepted my Prince, Its clear aleast two brujah are aiding him and I say two cause Barbara cant claim she doesn't know what Jack Does!

An interesting night over all. Attempting to take down Smithee was always a risky maneuver. My commendation for the quick recovery to both of you. Ventrue must be able to be flexible when necessary, and this is a good example of our ability to recover in the face of disaster.
Now, McVite may or may not have been involved, although that he didn't outright try to attack and kill you when he discovered you is interesting. Perhaps we need to follow that train of thought before we make any moves against him. We must also remember that we need proof, and I am not sure we have enough proof or status between us to make him pay in front of court (the Prince should be the final arbiter of that, of course). Either way, it may be best to talk to him first. Drakos, consider a subtle approach here; we may be able to maneuver him into a position where he is beholden to us, which will be better than trying to destroy him or directly punish him. The two of you should speak to Laurence, our other Ventrue, if he is there, to see if he can help that plan.
That being said, conferring with a blood hunted is a rather large sin. We may be able to get major or blood boons out of them if we can make the threat of punishment real enough.

Well my understanding is that it is not an ellysium coming up.
Brujah are not known for their mental acuity. I think I will sit down with him and find out.

the Prince needs no proof in his judgement Edvin, he just needs enough doubt to make a decision and I would say this is enough doubt. Mcvitie is pissy and is trying to be sneaky so we end up not suspecting anything and are caught off guard, I am not the one saying to destroy him I am saying for the prince to make and example of him.
The only way to ensure a kindred is never a threat is to blood bond him or eliminate him, If you leave him be you will be the one to pay in the end that is a simple fact my Sire taught me. It clear if your head isn't up ones ass that Jack is involved and simply put the Prince holds final say in the city so the proof we have is good enough in my Opinion. If you leave Mcvitie be after this it will bite you in your ass. There are times to plot and times to act this is a time to act, Start off court by DECLARING Mcvitie Forsaken or Bloodhunted my Prince other wise we will not be in power for long. Brujah are plotting to take back the city and Its pretty clear they are working with Smithee so we NEED to make the first move to stop them dead in there tracks. Its also uncertain who else is sided with Brujah, WE need to make it clear that Brujah are not the ones to side with. Now is the time for action and to show our clans strength!
It should be clear to all who know where I am from and who my sire and grand sire are what I was taught from day one. We had to countlessly deal with Sabbat spies and Camarilla Traitors, My Sire embraced me not only cause I was a successful business man that was smart and resourceful when it came to military tech/weapons, chemical and Biological warfare/science but also cause he seen a talent in me for figuring things out before others and knew I could be of used to weed out the Spies and Traitors. So I ask that my warnings be heeded cause they usually end up right on the mark.
