To the citizens of Red Deer;
I am posting these so there is no excuse for not knowing the rules in my city.
If there are any questions please direct them to your Primogen or the Seneschal, if you are part of a clan that lacks a Primogen.
The first tradition: The Masquerade
Thou shall not reveal thy true nature to those not of the Blood.
Doing such shall renounce thy claims of Blood.
This one is common sense and includes those who intentionally or unintentionally reveal our existence to ones who are not one of us and bring undue attention toward us. Examples include; showing off your cool powers, doing things mortals cannot, recording one of us doing what humans cannot, and not attempting to remove evidence of our existence when the opportunity presents itself.
The second tradition: The Domain
Thy domain is thine own concern.
All others owe thee respect while in it.
None may challenge thy word while in thy domain.
Domain is still being handed out to those who deserve it. Remember this, the City of Red Deer and surrounding area is all my domain fore-most and the areas that have been handed out are subject to emanate domain if the need arises. If you are named a domain holder it is your responsibility to care for the area.
The third tradition: The Progeny
Thou shall only Sire another with the permission of thine Elder.
If thou createst another without thine Elder’s leave, both thou and thy Progeny shall be slain.
This one is self-explanatory and please remember, I employ a scourge.
The fourth tradition: The Accounting
Those thou create are thine own children.
Until thy Progeny shall be Released, thou shall command them in all things.
Their sins are thine to endure.
The basis of this is simple though in the troublesome time we live in I see we need to expand on this tradition. We must account for all the kindred blood in this city. So at the next gathering I will be asking my seneschal to take up a registry of all the ghouls that recede in this city. If an unregistered ghoul is found the scourge is ordered to dispose of the ghoul and bring the dominator to the sheriff so they can answer for the crime of exposing a mortal to our ways, and hence a breach of the masquerade.
The fifth tradition: The Hospitality
Honor one another’s domain.
When thou comest to a foreign city, thou shall present thyself to the one who ruleth there.
Without the word of acceptance, thou art nothing.
Simple, from now on the seneschal with assistance from the harpy, to ensure status and such, will deal with the new guests of the city and with his/her suggestion will deem if someone is accepted.
The sixth tradition: The Destruction
Thou art forbidden to destroy another of thy kind.
The right of destruction belongeth only to thine Elder.
Only the Eldest among thee shall call the Blood Hunt.
And don’t forget this one.
