The Warrens are of course below ground so has no windows, but then again when was the last time you saw one of our kind gathering wool staring out a window at the landscape.
Carrick Driscol, having snooped through the old Masonic records and plans at the Freemason Hall in Red Deer has discovered many interesting hidden additions to the city. One of which being the existence of this underground hall that Driscol has added security to.
There is NO cell signal access, no GPS access, No 4g, LTE nothing. However, there is a local wifi hotspot that does NOT designate a location, and if it is traced will show up as the signal originating in Rosedale. The wifi password will be available, so people can still connect via social network or email to the outside. IF they know how they can set their phone up to connect to a cell tower through the network and it will appear as though the call is coming from Rosedale. If they do not then it can be set up by myself or our Nosferatu techie..
All access points, of which there are Five main ones, and many secondary are spread out through the Rack and Red Deer Core, as well as a few on each end of town. Be aware that other than myself, you are being given great trust and are not to share the locations of the entries as at least one or two (plus entry 5) should be kept unknown to use as a safe exit if we are besieged.
Access Point 1 is a stairwell behind the Old Courthouse across from City Hall. During construction it seems that again, Driscols masonic brothers decided to build a underground passage way. The recessed stairway enters into the court house basement. By entering room B1 to the left as you enter and then pushing on the back wall of the closet, an entrance can be found. The passageway is just under 3 meters (8') wide wide by 4 meters (12') high. Nice and dry now lit by low wattage LED lights.
Access Point 2 is found in the space between City Hall and it's nearly connecting Old Fire Hall. There is a steel emergency exit that is not an exit but access to another passageway like the first. The passageway is just under 3 meters (8') wide wide by 4 meters (12') high. Nice and dry now lit by low wattage LED lights.
This will be one of the secret exits for us.
Access point 3 can be found behind St. Luke’s Anglican Church. There is a gymnasium that is now attached to the back of the Church in the corner abuting the original Sandstone Church is a cathedral door and attached stone entry. As it happens this once led to a storm cellar which now is an access point to a connecting arched passageway that leads to my gather hall. The passageway is just under 3 meters (8') wide wide by 4 meters (12') high. Nice and dry now lit by low wattage LED lights.
The Access point is more of an exit point.
Access point 4 is close to a 1 km walk through another passage of the same design. The once entry, now exit is cleverly disguised and hidden in the face of the old Sandstone quarry across from the old logging camp now Bower Ponds.
Access Point 5 is from within the Masonic Hall itself.
Parkland Mall Hidden Exit/Entrance
- Hidden beneath Parkland mall are a maze of service tunnels. Connecting to one of these tunnels is an old sewer access door. In the sewer access room there is a hidden door beside the old boiler. Burried and forgotten about by most everyone in the city. It leads into the labyrinthian mazes below the city. Monitored by video camera.
Bower Mall Hidden Exit/Entrance
- Hidden under one of the loading docks at bower mall, at an old storm overflow drain, is another access point to and from the Mazes at the fringes of the warrens. Monitored by video camera.
The Chantry - Hidden Exit/Entrance
- Hidden below ground and coming up in the storage room of one of the outdoor public bathrooms is a access to the Warrens. This area is currently being boarded up. There are many warning signs and it appears that the roof and walls of this area are about to collapse under the weight of the earth. The tunnel itself appears to have been hastily dug and shored up when required. Monitored by video camera.
North Maze
The northern half of the city is separated from the south and the core by a river. Under the river and below the sewer level of the North Hill is a Maze. Twisting and turning tunnels that double back on itself. This whole area has been outfitted with tripwire traps/pressure plate traps. Accessible by only those that know the path. It has led many homeless person to become missing. Monitored by video camera.
South Maze
The southern half of the cities warrens is a twisting cavern maze. Rough mine tunnels and carved passages. A dangerous place for those who don't know the path. Monitored by video camera.
The Old Fire Hall (Downtown)
There is a steel door in at the back of the building that appears to go into a exterior storage area. Located inside is a sewer access point. Just around the corner in the access area, is a hidden door. Accessible through combination lock only. Monitored by video camera.
The Old Courthouse
There is a hidden door in the basement in the furnace room that leads into the warrens in the old courthouse. Currently the passage is boarded up while Kaspar rebuilds the Courthouse.
Full security array. Of which there is one network of obvious security camera's and then a second set of hidden cameras on a separate network.
There are motion detectors and pressure plates again independently networked. I just need to flip a switch to tie each one in separately to the Nosferatu security system.
There are also some beaded curtains in line of sight of the security cameras.
3” thick solid steel plate security doors. These are installed so that they will ONLY open outwards towards entrances so that they can be used as exits but not opened and used as entrances (no handles on back side). There are Magnetic lock bars to keep them from being somehow pulled open from other side. Opening them will send notification to us all and set off an alarm if one of us does not snooze the alarm.
There are holes that are bored into the doors and rigged using the previous masons mechanisms that physically have hidden levers to shoot several thick bolts into them from the door frame to secure. (think like a DnD door and a thief searching for the release/locking mechanisms). A few of the bolts per door can also be activated by solenoid to lock the door and the manual release will have to be found to open. (Not obvious and not right beside door, probably back a little in the hallway).
Doors are around every 100' and a minimum of two per Access tunnel. Camera's are watching outside of doors and alarmed in case someone tries to come in
The Hall itself is a large stone gathering area with several stone walled side meeting areas. The Main hall contains several tables much like the Prince's personal home we recently gathered at, Chairs, banners of the Clans and a Large stone throne. Some art and decorations. Very clean, well kept and probably in as good of shape or better than most rental halls. There is NO smell of sewer or anything other than possibly dry with a tinge of Fabreze? in the air.
Access Doors 3 & 4 are alarmed out the wazoo and under video security from inside out out. Disabling the alarm or cameras will set off a secondary silent alarm that notifies us that they have been breached. It would take at least 10 minutes from either door to open and get to hall. Primary alarms a;so notify Renato.
