In the Old days while I practiced my craft more, it was not uncommon for us, the Nosferatu to build or add into structures echo tubes/cages.

This would have been a crack in the wall, a offshoot from a vent, any location that could capture and enhance acoustics and then channel it to a desired location. Somewhere that we would have a clansman listening to gather information.

With the advent of technology this method has fallen into disuse as it was easier to plant a bug. With even further advances and Technomancy, the few Elders who may have learned of our echo tubes or used them themselves are forgetting and think to technology rather than what once was..


Herschal, though you specialize in Electrical I know your skills reach well beyond this. If Bryce were to say get you a set of plans for the new Elysium and adjoining rooms that we use, do you think you might be able to decipher a way to install acoustical tubes that could be run into and through the foundations and into the sewers? Carry voices to a special listening area where we could physically listen of perform the recording from there? Or even where we can then digitize and send out on a hidden hard line?

My own experience has shown me that detecting recording devices, camera's, bugs and other such spy devices require them to be in the proximity of where you were checking. BUT, if we were to combine old methods with new technology we could gain secret access to conversations while still keeping our electronics to far away for them to be detected or hacked.
