A general invitation to the Windsor's private Poker room is sent out. Inside of this dim back-room Jack sits at a large octagonal green felt table awaiting his guests. When all who wish to come have arrived Jack rises and addresses the group.
"Kindred of Red Deer I make this announcement in the hopes of appealing to your sense of self-preservation. I expect that before Palla Grande the Sabbat will counter attack. They have been depositing troops within Red Deer's boundaries using helicopters. Entrance ways have been tagged suggesting that they already know of some of our congregation places and havens. These cells are hopefully small in number and may be stamped out on our home turf, but only if we behave like the Camarilla. Any Ventrue will tell you that our interaction with the kine is our strength. I recommend that we join our influence over the kine together in hopes of stemming the tide approaching, or we may well be swept away." |

Keeper MCVITIE:
The Tremere have learned and done the following so far:
- I have made the decision to abandon the Chantry and ensure that all Tremere are at the Windsor Hotel on Halloween at significant cost to the Tremere
- There should be 6-8 Warlocks present to assist in protection of the city
- If the Keeper permits it, I have already arranged for a number of Wards to be placed on and around the Hotel
- I have created an item with a significant magical enchantment to ensure the escape of trapped Kindred, or the setting up of an Ambush
- I have learned that Calgary will be emptied of Sabbat, all of them coming here
- I am still determining their means of travel but the helicopters seem likely
- The safest spot in the city will be the Windsor Hotel
- The Windsor is an Elysium site and the Sabbat have their own twisted version of respect for Elysium
- I have been also able to determine that Archbishop ALEXANDROV and Bishop ROJAS intend to be in attendance - I have arranged for a Kine Security Force to patrol outside of the Windsor Hotel along with their Brujah master, Mr. Grimm - Both the Technomancer Napoleon ORSINI and the Conjurer, Apprentice TORRENS have been working on ideas to further fortify the Windsor and should be contacting you.
Of course, Keeper MCVITIE, all of the above is with your permission. The Elysium site belongs to the Seneschal and you and I do not wish to overstep, as there is a good chance that the Windsor will be damaged, much like how I fully expect that our Chantry will be damaged, but these are the sacrifices that must be made.
A discussion was attempted via the Primogen Council and from what happened there I can only glean that both Primogen Jack and Primogen Gabriel intend sit out in the city and slay Sabbat, and will be offering no further assistance.
I do know that Primogen LEPUS is eager to assist but is seeking guidance on what she and her Clan can do.
I have not heard from Primogen DRISCOL, but do know that he always has things in the work, however is not the biggest on sharing what.
I do know that Primogen Inara has something planned but do not know what the other Brujah intend to do.
According to Primogen Jack, the 300 Sabbat reinforcements that I informed the Court had come up from Mexico about a month ago, came specifically for him. According to Primogen Jack, they all know him personally and all hate him personally. If Primogen Jack were not here, they would likely not be here. I suppose it is akin to his Sire stirring up the Sabbat pot in Calgary and then fleeing to Montreal before the fight. Primogen Jack has offered to use himself as bait and is confident that he can give as good or better showing than the absent Myrmidon could.
The Blood Farm, the Emergency Blood Supply that I informed the Court was essentially unguarded, and a perfect spot to be ambushed, I believe still remains so. Although, again that was about a month ago. It is possible that plans are in place to strike at it, but due to everyone keeping their secrets, I have no idea.
That is about all I have to offer at this time, Keeper. I do know that Scourge Hess is the "War Leader" yet, we have seen no leadership from him.
Consequently, I would say that the job of protecting the Kindred of this city falls to the Keeper of Elysium, and of course, the Tremere will help all that we can, as limited as that help may be.
If you have anything further we can assist with, please let me know and I can either do it myself, or assign one of my Apprentices to do it.

I will say little concerning my plans for the moment but Elder Kasparhas many excellent points. Most of what I can lend to this discussion will have to wait until a few days prior to gather so we can all coordinate.
We have had to many leaks and frankly if there is no benefit in informing people before needed other than peace of mind then I won't. But, know that I can add to what has been discussed and will next week.
I will point out is that we need a specialized tailored force for covering Masquerade breaches. Though it had already been in my considerations I give special recognition to Edvin of Ventrue as he has personally brought this suggestion to my attention and is willing to work with this crew to do this.
Further Primogen Bunny is also directly seeking ways to help protect her Clan, Neonates and Ancillae and deserves credit for her initiative. She is trying to use her influence to convince the more stubborn and independent Kindred to bond together and stay together during this time of trouble.
Back to things that may help to protect the Masquerade and us. Here are my suggestions.
Forgetful Mind is a very useful tool here.
Dementation to warp perceptions of the mortals so they question what they may have seen.
Those with excellent resources I suggest you make alcohol very available and cheap that night. This has two benefits. The mortals are more susceptible to believe things are their imagination when drunk. And if the Sabbat intend to feed on our populace, at least they will also be hindered by doing so. I despise saying this but availability of other party favors for those who use them would also be good.
If it can be arranged in so short a period, troupes of actors running around town from bar to bar staging "Halloween Horrors" the obviously fake Vampires of the books, werewolf's and such performing fake fights and such. Tons of Dummies that can be used and placed to "Fake" deaths. It would also be a good cover to have any forces that are not known hidden in plain sight and available anywhere when needed.
It is bound to happen that mortals are going to see something, the Sabbat are not going to be gracious enough to keep everything under the radar. So if we have mortals stage fights between obviously fake vampires and were wolves, faeries and any other of this stuff it provides cover. Fake bodies left behind could be what they discover after we fight and ash, bringing question to what they may have seen.
Getting a hold of Tanks of Nitrous Oxide we can let loose in colored clouds could help also.
Remember, even if we win we have to have some way of recovering the Masquerade. We do live here after all.
Lastly I have a different suggest concerning Venue. Yes the Sabbat supposedly value Elysium to an extent. But we know it is going to be violated. Let it not be us.
Allow the Kindred of the city to reside there for the few days before. But the night of Halloween as we come to gather have everyone move to my Masons Hall under City Hall Park. I would give permission for the Tremere and whomever else to set up defenses as long as I am informed of what and where. When the attack comes, as we know it will, we will not be violating Elysium. In the aftermath this will garner us musch respect from the Camarilla as a whole for so avoiding the destruction and violation of yet another one.
I have several back doors that can be used as escape routes that are unknown to any here. My exits can deliver us almost anywhere between the River, East Hill and South Hill. Plus can open up paths to the warrens if needed.
Lastly, If Jaquline and others could also arrange for some form of loose costumes that would accommodate fighting and recognition of our forces. We may have those fighting with us that others have never met. If we all wore one of several costumes, we could identify our own. Fake Vampires and such would always be good. Who would expect us to dress up for Halloween as "Dracula", "Louis" or "Team Edward".
I can only imagine the disaster if we did not place the Keystone. Every force would fight the other and not know if they were Sabbat or not.
Lastly, feed now over the next week and use only the blood you have to. Do not depend on being able to feed Halloween night.

Regent Kaspar where did i say they where here for me? I said they hate me and most will likely try to kill me. Don't be so fast to dismiss clan gangrel, we have plans for the night of palla grande that involve being out in the city fighting like any that are capable should be. I have told ma clan if they didn't fight they should report to the Elysium and aid the keeper any way they can and any way the keeper sees fit. Diana wolfsbane will be using her animals and aiding the the fighting and Mack i believe will be moving around jumping between the aid of Elysium and the fighting. I will be fighting along side the sheriff, Diana and Gabriel. The Elysium is not the only thing we need to defend, the city is just as important.

I do agree with much of what you have suggested and agreed that us who are fighting should make the mortals believe it was just an amazing Party. However before we do anything involving the City the sheriff has the final decision on how the defence of the city is to go.

You know elder Driscoll the easiest means of keeping this affair out of the eyes of mortals would be a curfew. Something someone with some influence in bureaucracy might be able to swing. At least for one night.

The easiest way to keep this away from mortals is to have as many mortals and live cameras as possible. Start thinking of the Masquerade as a tool not a burden.

"I've heard about a lot about various parties which intend to enter the streets on Palla Grande to combat the Sabbat. Might I remind you all that I said that you may wish to be pro-active in you assault. I believe the rumor is that majority of the helicopters set down In the industrial area. Therefore logic dictates that many of the pocket groups may be close too this area. Perhaps a dedicated and fast strike force may be able to destroy some of their number before the day itself. They are preparing now why wait until they are ready? Those with obfuscate may be able to enter the area without raising suspicion and pinpoint the havens and then the strike forces can destroy them before they have fed and performed there battle rites."

I am very concerned about the willingness of our court to die on the streets. I clearly understand the value and need to form "hunting parties" however in my simple opinion a more defensive strategy maybe more effective. To use our distinct advantage of Elysium and to plan defences accordingly I feel maybe our ideal plan. We will be the undersized and smaller force in this encounter by allowing our more martial members to run amok in the streets away from our Elysium may be a bridge to far. If the information I have received to true we are looking at a force numbering near 100 fighters that said if we can hold off till daybreak preparing for a siege maybe our wisest course.

Jack I am sure you remember the un earthed child we brought back from Calgary in are last trip down there with pickens and Inara. well I have the lil un earthed brat still held in ma Basement but unfortunately do not have the means to probe its mind.

Very well Regent but I have a condition, though I personally don't care what happens to the brat I know of one kindred that does not what the brat killed. So i request that it be returned to me after you probe it's mind so long as it's not a threat to any, if it is dangerous then there isn't much we can do about keeping it alive.
