Well my friends.
So far I have only found one real Elder that seems to be on the war path of arrogance and superiority when it comes to putting us poor Neonates in our place.
Here is the thing. I have studied under some of the most knowledgeable minds in both America and Europe. I have garnered enough understanding of the particulars that I have in turn been requested by these self same individuals to instruct their childer in the ins and outs of the Camarilla.
Elder Kaspar, makes many Claims, I do not question the truth of them simply bring out the inconsistencies.
He states he was personally in contact with Justicars and congratulated for single handedly taking out a Red Listed Kindred. Which before I came here I also learned he was sanctioned for dealing with the red listed individual known as Sweetly.
With such a thing automatically comes something called the Trophy. This is a mark that places him in a position as a Alastar. Their sole job is to travel the Globe and hunt Red Listed Kindred. But for some reason he still is here interfering with this Domain.
Also, speaking of interfering in this Domain. I had a long conversation with the Elder Renato Maestrodominico. It seems that the Elder Kaspar has somehow got the Prince to sign a contract, that if broken causes a Kindred to fall into torpor. The Prince is unable to plot against Elder Kaspar. And from my perception is being overly cautious, somehow believing that acting in anyway against Kaspar is plotting against him. Where if the terms of agreement state plotting then reacting would not fall under it. Premeditated vs reaction.
Elder Kasper also blatantly overstates the power his status gives him. He overrides anyone and everyone stating that he has status so you have to do what he says. This is NOT the case. He can only do what his status allows him to do. He does not have authority to order people to run around and be his henchman (except maybe the Tremere as he is also regent). He tells us we are not allowed to speak or disagree, again this is a blatant falsehood.
The formation of the Camarilla gave us exactly these rights. We are allowed to express our opinions, we are allowed to disagree. We simply may not openly insult, attack or threaten "Established" Kindred. We are thus allowed to disagree all we want. Further, we ARE allowed to speak. We can not be told to simply shut up.
A Primogen that is not ours has no Jurisdiction over us unless they are also a position holder. As Kaspar is not a position holder he has no right to order anyone, save perhaps a Tremere, to be his lackey and go fetch or do things for him. He has no right to order say Mack to go capture Face. Why is it your problem? It has nothing to do with you. YOU have every right to demand a boon of him if he requests any service of you. Just because you are Scourge it does not make it your job to hunt an accepted Kindred nor to jump at his bidding. Same for being Sheriff.
He has no Authority to make such declarations other than ego.
He will make a grand claim that it is your duty to do so in service to the city. This is and is not correct. Keeping our city safe is the job of the Position holders. Keeping our personal domains safe is ours. It also behooves us to do things that help ourselves remain safe. If you are requested to go above or beyond, or jump to now at the behest of someone who does not have the authority to force it of you, The Status Praised has this very specific effect when expended. To ask a Trivial service of you without having to pay said boon. For some that is trying to track someone down for others it is "fixing" the memory of a mortal.
This is how you progress in our society. Nothing is ever free. Would Elder Kaspar run after someone that bothered you just because?
You can not be forced to leave a room "just because" with out someone expending their status to do so. The Status Prominent, held by Elders, has this very specific purpose. If an Elder wishes a private conversation or wishes for you to leave, you do not have to unless they expend Prominent to force you to. So ASK them if they are expending it. If they are no then don't leave.
We are led to believe that Elders have all the power. And it is true they possess many of the cards to do so. But status works two ways. Simply having it only adds certain benefits. It has to be actually expended to gain the others. Force the situation, but be polite and do not insult. Widdle down the excessive status that is held over us. Make those who have it expend it.
Ask for boons if you are told to perform a service.
